Die Nati are off to Brazil!

Through the 2-1 victory against Albania in Tirana, the Swiss national team secured their place in the next year’s World Cup in Brazil, thanks to the goals by Xherdan Shaqiri and the newcomer Michael Lang.

The Swiss are about to experience their tenth World Cup ever, and so far, under the direction of cold-handed coach Ottmar Hitzfeld, they are among the strong contenders. Maybe not among the candidates for winning the trophy, but they are tipped as a team that can overthrow the odds, just like what they did to Spain in 2010. Until now, the Swiss are known as a record holder for the longest non-conceded team in the World Cup campaign. A record that they have bee holding from 2006. Let’s wait for their further Swiss surprises!
